Uman Sheli aims for something more fundamental: To raise awareness and stimulate genuine caring.
Our mission is to instill every heart with the knowledge and feeling that Uman is our own personal responsibility. If the street isn't clean, it touches me personally. If a Yid arrives for the first time and doesn't know where to turn, I care.
If there is any information, order or guidance lacking that could enhance the dignity of the Kibbutz and yishuv hadaas of travelers, I won't walk right past as if it has nothing to do with me. Why? Because Uman is mine!
When We Care, We Notice More.
Tens of thousands of Yidden give their hearts and souls every year for the inexpressible merit of being by Rabbeinu Hakadosh on Rosh Hashanah. It is a monumental gathering unparalleled anywhere else in the world, and this is precisely why our efforts for the Kibbutz must reflect that sacred reality.
We’re not asking for anything major. Sometimes, it's as simple as picking a paper cup off the sidewalk and placing it in the bin or devoting one minute of time to offer directions to a Yid who has never been here before. What we’re seeking is a change of mindset, so everyone knows that what happens in the Kibbutz is our personal business.
As an integral part of this initiative, we’re collaborating closely with organizations and establishments operating in Uman to identify needs, connect people, and enhance the order and guidance where needed. Concurrently, existing projects and organizations serving the public are benefiting from active support and backing, all with one single goal: To ensure that all existing forces in Uman are united for the honor of Rabbeinu.
